Many know the name WestCoast Stone, but only a few know the depths of his raw talent and ability when it comes to production and artistry. On “Popping Muzik, 4 The Culture” WestCoast Stone doesn’t hold back displaying his ability not only for the history of WWest Coast Hip Hop but his keen sense of Funk! Stone Geniously crafts 10 tracks of a stan of the entire spectrum of electric funk, traditional funk, and G-Funk all on one album. None of the tracks feel like fillers they all bring a new energy and vibe. Like the stand-out “Poppin an Lockin” featuring Bootsy Collins & Zapp. Or the drum-heavy “Space Dooky” which features frequent collaborator Trick Trick.
Whatever your flavor you will be pleased with this album it has throwback nostalgic production reminiscent of Egyptian Lover and World Class Wreckin Crew, but only in the fashion of WestCoast Stone. The Poppers and Dancers should love this project with fewer vocals and more music for sure. WestCoast Stone definitely elevated and stamped his legacy with this fourth installment to his Popping Muzik series.
