Today, powerhouse group We The Band released their first ever single “One & Only” – listen HERE. First joining forces as Justin Bieber’s band for the monumental Purpose World Tour in 2016, and continuing with Bieber for his 2022 Justice World Tour, We The Band boasts key members Harv (Bass), Tay James (DJ), Julian Micheal (Guitar), Devon “Stixx” Taylor (Drums) and Dr. O (Keyboards). We The Band is now making their own name for themselves as a fully formed team and “One & Only” is only the beginning.
“One & Only” introduces listeners to We The Band’s unique new sound—uniting lovestruck lyrics, a foot-thumping beat, and a commanding melody into an unforgettable hit. We The Band have infused this new track with the combined musical genius of all 5 members.
Accompanying the song is a stunning debut music video, directed by the seasoned Zev York in collaboration with Nick DeMoura, former choreographer and creative director for Justin Bieber’s 2012 BELIEVE World Tour – watch HERE. About We The Band
We The Band are the new old school. The quintet—Harv [bass, vocals], Tay James [DJ], Julian Michael [guitar, vocals], Devin “Stixx” Taylor [drums], and Dr. O [keys]—bring fresh fire and flavor to R&B with expertly honed instrumental chops, airtight songwriting, and once-in-a-lifetime chemistry born out of years playing together as the backing band for Justin Bieber. The group unites five likeminded, yet different personalities. Representing a sizable portion of the country, Harv hails from Kansas City, while Tay grew up in Baltimore. Stix calls Atlanta home, Julian is from Alabama, and Dr. O is a Richmond native. In terms of inspirations, the guys reference R&B titans as diverse as Jodeci, 112, and Dru Hill or Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, and Missy Elliott. However, the members will enthusiastically “all agree on Earth, Wind & Fire” as a core influence. Upon graduating college in 2009, Tay initially met Bieber and joined the budding superstar as his official DJ. When Harv assumed the role of Musical Director for Bieber, he handpicked top-tier musicians to join them, including “Stixx” and Julian. Dr. O eventually transitioned from sound design to keyboards. This lineup powered the now-legendary Purpose World Tour, entertaining nearly 3 million fans and taking flight as “one of the highest-grossing concert tours of 2016 and 2017.” Following the Global Pandemic, We The Band returned to the road on The Justice World Tour in 2022. Along the way, the group perfected the interplay between them by jamming and writing constantly. Now, their vibrant and vital vision comes to life with new music on the way and their first single “One & Only.”
