Famous toymaker Hasbro made headlines in late 2019 with the purchase of Entertainment One, and subsequently taking control of iconic West Coast label Death Row Records, the former home of 2Pac Shakur, Dr. DreTha Dogg Pound, and Snoop Dogg.

Now, per a Deadline report, Death Row Records, including additional artists and properties under eOne Music, are on the move once again, with the report stating that Hasbro will be selling eOne Music to the equity firm Blackstone for a $385 million cash deal.

“This transaction will ensure that eOne Music is well positioned to unlock great opportunities for its many talented artists and partners, as Hasbro continues to focus on the core strategic elements of … play and entertainment,” said Brian Goldner, CEO of the Pawtucket, RI-based Hasbro.

In recent months, Death Row Records consultant John Payne has touted upcoming vaulted music releases, working with former Death Row Records inmates like DazKuruptLady Of RageRBX and others.

At the time of this writing, there’s been no word on how this impacts the legendary west coast label and its infamously vaulted music.
