A few months ago, producers & brothers Adrian Rezza and Lucas Rezza, a/ka/ 80 Empire, dropped their most recent release Anthems & Icons, a 17-track project featuring DMC, Papa J, WC, Kurupt, KRS-One, Grafh, Jomi, and more.
This coming Friday (February 11), the group will be releasing the single “Fallen Angels” off the project, which features legendary Long Beach, California lyricist, and former Slaughterhouse emcee, Kxng Crooked. The west coast rhymer hopped on Twitter when the Anthems & Icons album dropped and posted this about working on the song with 80 Empire, “I turned all the lights out in the studio as I listened to this smooth joint from @80Empire_ and then I went into the booth and these words came out”.
When asked about working with Kxng Crooked, Adrian Rezza of 80 Empire exclusively told Chad Kiser of West Coast Styles, “Crook is just an amazing human being and a real artist. We call him the Rap William Shakespeare because he is ahead of his time and I think his rhymes will be analyzed in many an English class in the future”
