Grammy Award-winning producer Fredwreck, responsible for numerous classics with and for Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kurupt, and others, recently posted a couple of behind-the-scenes information regarding two of his productions to his Instagram story, as he reflected on the anniversary of west coast icon Nate Dogg‘s passing.

The Palestinian-American producer first recounted the “Ditty Dum Ditty Doo” track from Nate Dogg’s 2001 album Music & Me. The song featured frequent collaborator Snoop Dogg, along with Tray Deee and Goldie Loc of Tha Eastsidaz. Fredwreck revealed in his post that he and Nate Dogg made the song for Tha Eastsidaz initially, but as Snoop was heading out the door to go on tour he heard the beat and made the tour bus wait because he wanted on the track. According to Fredwreck, Snoop went in and freestyled the verse he laid for it.

The second song Fredwreck gives a little backstory on is “Have A Party” by Mobb Deep featuring 50 Cent & Nate Dogg off the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ soundtrack in 2006. Fredwreck and Nate, who initially had made this track for another artist who turned it down, submitted the track to Paul Rosenberg. The Shady Records co-founder passed it along to 50 Cent. Rosenberg and 50 ended up getting Mobb Deep to record to it and flew Fred out to New York to finish the record and mix it down.
