One of my greatest honors as a writer is speaking with other writers. Such is the case with the interview subject I am talking with this evening – In this interview, I had the pleasure and privilege of chopping it up Mr. Jonathan Abrams. Abrams is an award-winning writer for The New York Times who has also written for Grantland, The Los Angeles Times, and Bleacher Report.
He recently released his third book, The Come Up: An Oral History of Hip-Hop. Its publisher described it as “an exhilarating behind-the-scenes account of how hip-hop came to rule the world and [became] an essential contribution to music history.”
Jonathan, thank you so much for taking time out of your schedule to speak with us, and a big shout out to West Coast Styles’ number-one newsman, Chad Kiser, for making this interview possible.
