Back in June, LL Cool J, via new Def Jam Strategic Consultant Snoop Dogg, announced that he was indeed working on a new album, but details of the project were not shared. However, during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (September 29), LL Cool J once again confirmed a new album was in the works, and also shared that A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip would be executive producing the project.
LL & Jimmy Kimmel also talked about going on yacht trips with Magic Johnson & Samuel L. Jackson, “Rock the Bells” being in Jimmy’s ESPN 30 for 30 about the NY Mets, the 13th season of NCIS: Los Angeles, and LL being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
LL Cool J first hit the scene back in the mid-80’s, dropping his debut album Radio in 1985. He has gone on to release 13 studio albums, including Authentic, which is the rapper’s most recent release from 2013. While LL has been more focused on his acting career lately, he has also built his Sirius XM radio channel, Rock the Bells, into an entire brand and website.
