Last month Kendrick Lamar announced that his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, would be dropping on May 13, 2022.
Taking to social media today (May 11), to share the cover art for the upcoming new, and final album for Top Dawg Entertainment. The cover shows Lamar wearing a crown of thorns while holding a toddler in his arms, and a woman sitting on a bed in the corner with an infant.
On Sunday (May 8) the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper dropped a new video entitled “The Heart Part 5”, where he morphs into several familiar faces while rapping. During the five-minute track, Lamar’s face morphs into O.J. Simpson, Kanye West, Jussie Smollett, Kobe Bryant, Will Smith, and Nipsey Hussle, while he raps verses from each of their perspectives.
