Legendary west coast producer Chris “The Glove” Taylor, who has worked with many of the top artists in music like Ice-T, Dr. Dre, Nas, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, LL Cool J, and Xzibit, just dropped his latest single “Cahuenga Boulevard”.
The introspective track finds “The Glove” in a timeline reminiscing on working with Dr. Dre, moving from Ruthless Records to Death Row Records with the help of Suge Knight, and reflects on The D.O.C. and Snoop Dogg’s early creativity and influence in building the label, 2Pac coming through with “California Love”, all before the downfall of the storied label.
Later in the song, Taylor recalls Interscope Records head Jimmy Iovine setting Dr. Dre up with the Aftermath Entertainment imprint where “The Glove” was instrumental in Aftermath’s early days producing tracks like “Fame” off the Dr. Dre Presents…The Aftermath compilation, “Phone Tap” on The Firm‘s The Album, and “Zoom” featuring Dr. Dre & LL Cool J for the Bulworth movie soundtrack.
