Kokane and Cold 187um are back with a new Funk / Soul / Hip-Hop band they’ve created known as A.O.G.F – the Architects Of G-Funk, and have dropped the 14-track album We Have Returned.
Gregory F Hutchison aka Cold 187um is a producer /MC from Above the Law, one of the most prolific west coast rap groups of all time. Music is embedded in his DNA as his uncle is the legendary Motown singer/songwriter Willie Hutch. Cold 187um produced Uncle Sams Curse, Black mafia life, Livin Like a Hustler for Above The Law, as well as producing for the iconic Eazy E & Ruthless Records.
Cold 187um is responsible for creating the style of music called G-FUNK, which has been incredibly influential for some of the biggest names in the music industry like N.W.A, Dr. Dre, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, and countless others.
It all started back in 1989, when Cold 187um and Kokane, recorded a three-song demo & submitted the tracks to Eazy E. Kokane was then signed to Ruthless Records shortly after. In the early ’90s, Cold 187um would have Kokane guest appear on Above The Law’s albums as a G-Funk crooner, singer, and emcee. Cold 187um also produced Kokane’s albums Who Am I and Funk Upon A Rhyme for Ruthless Records.
Kokane is now known for being the most featured collaborative recording artist in the world and is the son of another Motown legend Jerry Buddy Long, Sr. He has worked with multi-platinum and gold music artists including N.W.A, P-Funk pioneer George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg to name a few. Kokane has been lending his distinct sound to countless artists, fans, and musicians around the world during his 30-plus-year music career.
