WCS is sad to learn that our dear friend and associate Big Wy of The Relativez rap group passed away yesterday (June 1). Full name Wytony Dillon, Wy first came on the scene as a participant in the 90’s project, “Bangin’ On Wax”, and was instrumental in the rise and reputation of “Damu” rappers in the industry. After the “Bangin’ On Wax” project, Wy signed to Death Row Records as part of The Young Soldiers. However, it was with his cousin Suga Buga as The Relativez that Wy would make his mark on the industry by releasing music tailor-made for the streets. Wy also made his impact behind the scenes by helping to introduce new talent to the world. Such talent included the likes of the TDE camp, YG, Ty Dolla $, Joe Moses and more. Through his label 319 Music, Wy put our The Cali Swag District who in turn taught the whole world how to do the “Dougie” dance. Wy is survived by two daughters, one of which interviewed him for this very site in an epic father/daughter feature. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family as they deal with his passing. Long live Wytony “Big Wy” Dillon, the King of Inglewood.
