thegoodnews. is a hip-hop band led by iconic rapper Del The Funky Homosapien, presented primarily in cartoon form. Founded by Del along with producer CTZN, rapper Po3 and illustrator Pete Cosmos, the group first began to coalesce during Deltron 3030’s Event 2 tour, eventually finding their sound working with guitar and pedal wizard Taka Tozawa along with bass and FX guru Juan Alderete, a former member of The Mars Volta who has worked with Dr. Octagon, Jonwayne, Mac Miller, Domo Genesis, and many more. After a slew of tour dates, the group formed a production company and took up residency at Oakland venue The Golden Bull, curating a monthly art and music event showcasing local talent, previewing new material and treating fans to performances from special guests.

Now, Del The Funky Homosapien and thegoodnews. are unveiling larger scale music plans in partnership with Nature Sounds. To start, the group is introducing listeners to their odd-ball universe with the new single “avg.hype“. Now available on all digital outlets, the track finds Del and Po3 delivering electrifying lyricism over bass-heavy production by CTZN and Juan Alderete. The group is set to release the new EP This Just In! as an official Record Store Day exclusive on limited-edition picture-disc vinyl when the annual physical music extravaganza arrives on April 12th.
