Just in time for Pride Month 2025, 2x GRAMMY-nominated hip-hop icon Da Brat returns with a heartfelt new single, “Have U 2 Myself,” featuring acclaimed singer-songwriter Jessica Betts – “hersband” of Niecy Nash Betts. This powerful collaboration blends Da Brat’s signature lyrical prowess with Betts’ soulful vocals, creating an intimate anthem that celebrates love, connection, and vulnerability.

“I’ve collaborated with many artists throughout my career, but this release is especially meaningful because it’s the first time I’m putting something out independently. Over the years, I’ve created a lot of music that I’ve kept to myself, mainly because the industry has changed so much since I started. Now, I’m surrounded by an incredible team that genuinely supports me and believes in my vision—and that makes all the difference,” shares Da Brat.

Have U 2 Myself” marks a significant moment in Da Brat’s artistic journey, showcasing a softer, more introspective side of the trailblazing rapper. The track’s lush production and emotive storytelling reflect the personal growth and creative evolution of both artists. Jessica Betts, known for her dynamic voice and genre-defying style, favor Da Brat’s verses with a infectious chorus that makes everyone want to dance. Their chemistry is magical, making “Have U 2 Myself” a standout release that bridges the worlds of hip-hop and soul.

Jessica Betts and Niecy Nash-Betts share, “We so excited that this collab happened! Friendship & love led to inspiration & creativity. The vibes were not planned but right on time for Pride Month! Can’t wait for everyone to see the video. It’s fire!”

“I love working with Jessica Betts—JB. Her swag is unmatched, she’s super cool, and she’s from Chicago like me. We met years ago and she was kind from the start. She loves her wife (Niecy Nash-Betts) the way I love mine (Jesseca Harris-Dupart), and we both really cherish our lives with them. That connection is something we want to share with the world. JB has an incredible vibe—her voice is smooth and laid-back, and when she picks up that guitar? It’s magic. She’s insanely talented and just a joy to work with. Our wives are close friends and actually brought us together, so the energy was natural. We vibed in the studio and created something special. This definitely won’t be the last time we collaborate,” shares Da Brat.

This collaboration also highlights the artists’ shared commitment to representation and visibility within the LGBTQ+ community. Both Da Brat and Jessica Betts have been open about their identities and relationships, using their platforms to inspire and empower others.

“Have U 2 Myself” is now available on all major streaming platforms. Follow Da Brat on Instagram using @SoSoBrat; and Jessica Betts at @JessicaBettsMusic.
