During a recent Unique Access Entertainment interview with Brother J of XClan, the rapper-producer discussed the story behind the cover of the group’s To The East, Blackwards album. The Grand Verbalizer also tells host Soren Baker about selecting the historical figures who appear on the cover.
XClan is the Brooklyn, New York, hip-hop group that featured Brother J, Professor X the Overseer, Paradise the Architect, Sugar Shaft the Rhythm Provider, Isis, Queen Mother Rage, and YZ among others.
The original incarnation of the group released two albums, their 1990 debut To the East, Blackwards, followed by Xodus in 1992. Several notable songs included “Heed the Word of the Brother”, “Funkin’ Lesson”, “Fire & Earth (100% Natural)”, and “Xodus”.
