I have known Dae One since day one. It’s been such an honor to have seen him grow from a pupil to a master producer. Back during my WestCoastRydaz years, his studio was one of the hubs of the New West Coast – a group of young, hungry and talented artists from the West that were knocking down the doors they felt weren’t being opened to them. Later, Dae One went on to produce for legends in this game like Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube and became a trusted source for music. This would carry on to helping SZA with her beginning journey on the TDE label and making dope cuts for Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q as well. To this day he continues to bring forth new names and talent, one of them being the son of the late legendary singer Nate Dogg. Check out this interview where we discuss his past, present and future including the arrival of his new daughter into the world. Oh yeah, I am also joined by my nephew Chris “Duce” Reyes who is making his interviewing debut here on WCS. Gotta keep the tradition going!
