Yesterday (December 8), Rockstar Games announced a new story entitled The Contract which finds music mogul, Dr. Dre, needing some help because he lost his phone containing his unreleased music. So, the mission is to find the producer’s lost cell phone full of the unheard musical gems and return it to him.
One of the most exciting aspects of the upcoming release is the new song “ETA”, a collaboration between Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, and Anderson .Paak which can be heard in the trailer for The Contract.
The credits provided for the “ETA” track list A. Young, J. Pounds, C. Broadus, T. Smith Jr., B. Anderson, B. Sledge, M. Ambrosius, A. Joiner, M. Lee Edwins as the songwriters, with production for the track handled by Dr. Dre and J.LBS. Additional vocals come from BJ the Chicago Kid, Marsha Ambrosius and Xzibit, while Focus… mixed the record with Dr. Dre, and the new song contains a sample of “You’re the One for Me” performed by The Edwards Generation.
In the trailer, snippets of Dre, Snoop, and .Paak’s vocals can all be heard, as Dre and .Paak appear as their virtual selves.
Additionally, according to Rockstar Games, there will be “a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks” featuring “a heavy-hitting line-up of artists” on deck. So, “ETA” is just a taste of the brand new music Dr. Dre will be releasing through the Grand Theft Auto Online expansion story, The Contract.
Several of Dr. Dre’s closest associates like Snoop Dogg and Ice-T have been saying for a couple of months now that Dr. Dre has been working on new music for GTA, as well as new music for a possible new solo project.
