Not only did he put on iconic shows at The Sports Arena with Uncle Jamms Army but he also laid the foundation for the recording scene on the West Coast with cuts like “Egypt, Egypt”, “My Beat Goes Boom”, “What Is A DJ?”, “Dial-A-Freak”, “Girls” and more. These songs were the sounds of the streets before the gangster rap era took over and they were essential to the party scene that got girls on the dancefloor to do a sexy dance called the “freak”.
