Sources have confirmed that Shock G, the legendary frontman of Digital Underground, has passed away. As of now, the cause of death remains unknown.  A TMZ report indicates that, according to his father, he was found dead in his hotel room in Tampa, FL.

While many may know him as Humpty Hump from “The Humpty Dance,” the man born Greg Jacobs was far more than that. He was also an acclaimed producer. Shock’s credits include work with, among others, Tupac Shakur, The Luniz, and Prince. And in addition to releases with his Digital Underground collective, he also put out a solo album, 2004’s Fear of a Mixed Planet.

West Coast Styles sends our deepest condolences to Shock G’s family, friends, and fans.
