South Los Angeles will be getting a new high school in 2022 thanks to Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. The school will be located in the Leimert Park area and will share the same campus as Audubon Middle School. The still unnamed school will specialize in technology, critical, innovative and entrepreneurial thinking. “This is for kids who want to go out and start their own company or go work at a place like Marvel, or Apple or companies like that,” Jimmy Iovine explained at the press conference. Dr. Dre also added, “”Here’s a place that you can go where there’s something that you can learn that you’re really interested in.” The new high school is a continuation of the philanthropy efforts of Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine as the two partnered up in 2013 to bring a similar program to USC.
