Last month, west coast icon Snoop Dogg announced that he had acquired the Death Row Records label from MNRK Music Group, which was controlled by the investment firm Blackstone.

When the announcement first materialized it wasn’t exactly known what assets of the storied label Snoop was able to acquire, with speculation being that he wasn’t able to get some of the classic albums from Dr. Dre, 2Pac, and others, including his own 1993 solo debut Doggystyle.

Yesterday (March 4), Snoop confirmed to Elliott Wilson on TIDAL, that he does in fact own the masters to Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, his own albums Doggystyle & Tha Doggfather, as well as Murder Was the Case soundtrack, Tha Dogg Pound’s 1995 debut Dogg Food, and the soundtrack to Above the Rim.

As for 2Pac’s iconic 1996 Death Row Records release All Eyez On Me, Snoop said, ““As far as 2Pac’s masters, 2Pac’s masters came back to him last year. But I got a great relationship with his estate, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to work something out … to continue some Death Row 2Pac business now that Snoop Dogg is in control of Death Row.”
