Pomona, California hip-hop legend Suga Free, who recently married, has announced his retirement from music and confirms that Mr. P Body will be his last album.

His latest release is the Group Therapy Project, which paired the Pomona rapper with long-time friend and collaborator DJ Quik.

Last year, it was announced that he and fellow Pomona, California pioneer Kokane were collaborating on a forthcoming album entitled Power Of the P. They released one single from the project, the funky Cutty Dre-produced “SugaKane”. The Power Of the P album was set to feature production from Ant Banks, Big Zeke, and others.

Suga Free released his debut album, the DJ Quik-produced Street Gospel in 1997. Shortly after the release, he had high-profile guest appearances on DJ Quik’s Rhythm-Al-Ism (“Down, Down, Down”, “No Doubt”), Xzibit‘s Restless (“Sorry I’m Away So Much”), and Snoop Dogg‘s Tha Last Meal (“Trust Me” produced by Bud’da). In 2004, the rapper dropped his second album, The New Testament, followed by Just Add Water in 2006.
