Dae One, the multi-faceted producer for Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Jay Rock, SZA, Paul Wall, and others recently dropped the 16-track XCVI Universe album featuring Noni Picasso, Mac Doe, Jah Kang, Smokey Lane, Rapper Big Pooh, Danny Atoms, Apryl Paige, and others.
Preceding the release, Dae one released the Ac3 Beats-produced lead single “I Don’t” with South Central, Los Angeles artist Mac Doe of the legendary collective LA ZU, and “Stogie Flow” with Noni Picasso.
In an exclusive statement to Chad Kiser of West Coast Styles, the prolific producer said about putting the XCVI universe project together, “I did this project with artists that I consider family and hand-picked these artists because I feel they are overlooked and underrated. Each artist is unique and they all bring something to the project that’s needed. Also, the producers involved also everyone’s contributions make this project what it is.”
Dae One is a respected and established producer who has worked with a multitude of industry heavyweights. West Coast legend Snoop Dogg first commissioned Dae One for a beat on his 2010 release More Malice which resulted in ultra-smooth “So Gangsta” featuring Long Beach crooner Butch Cassidy, giving Snoop an updated G-Funk sound along the way.
In 2011, Dae One and his mentor Sir Jinx had the opportunity to work with icon Ice Cube for his I Am The West album with the track, “Life in California.”
