KDay recently had a 40-year celebration event where they honored West Coast Legends DJ Quik, Tha Dogg Pound, DJ Battle Cat, Greg Mack, and many others for their contributions to Hip Hop as West Coast representatives. The Honorees were presented with a KDay plaque and asked questions about their journey and time in Hip Hop.

The Radio station was a Pioneer on the West Coast, being one of the first radio stations to play Hip Hop, but not only Hip Hop West Coast Hip Hop. Once an AM station, 1580 KDay was special because it would break local records. You could go to a party and see N.W.A., DJ Bobcat, or DJ Battle Cat, RodneyO, and Joe Cooley, and then hear the same talent on the radio. For a long time, KDay and Greg Mack were the force behind getting West Coast records to the masses. In more recent times KDay has seen a resurgence now an FM station on 93.5 FM, and keeping true to supporting the West Coast, you can see your favorite artists being interviewed on the morning show.
