Atlanta, Georgia rapper Kool Ace was the recent guest on the BHighTV podcast show where he discussed the details of making “Pimpin’ Aint No Illusion” with Too Short, and Pimp C & Bun B off the UGK album Dirty Money released in 2001 on Jive Records.

Kool Ace tells the story of how Pimp C met up with him and played the instrumental track for what would become “Pimpin’ Ain’t No Illusion”, with Pimp C telling Kool Ace, “Man, I want this to be your single. I don’t want nobody to get this record, it’s your record. This is the record that’s going to take you over the hump!”

During the interview, Kool Ace also mentions how Too Short paid him $87,000 for the two verses he laid down on Short’s 1996 album Gettin’ It (Album Number 10) on the songs “Buy You Some” with Erick Sermon & MC Breed and “Pimp Me” featuring GoldySir Captain, and Reel Tight.
